New Delhi: Former Indian cricketer Robi Shastri has been appointed as the head coach of the Indian men’s senior cricket team in the second term. The three-member Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), led by Kapil Dev, made the announcement at a media briefing in Mumbai, interviewing shortlisted candidates. Shastri has been reappointed for a two-year term, which will extend to the ICC World Twenty20, to be played in India. This is the fourth issue of Shastri with the national team, as the Director of Cricket (Bangladesh tour of 2007, 2007), Team Director (25-27) and Head Coach (20-201-24). “Tom Moody was number three, Mike Hesson was second. You were expecting the number one Robi Shastri… (However) it was a close race, ”Kapil told a press conference to announce the decision.
